HQ-A ProjSys2 Contest rules and entry form available

Still haven't decided on just what system we will be giving away, but at least the complete rules and a link to the entry form has been posted here:

http://tinyurl.com/5wt4m7d

The type of system which will be given away will be one of the following:

Desktop System
HTPC/Nettop
Portable (Notebook/Netbook)
Mini ITX System

Right now the portable category is leading in the voting and if this option is chosen then most likely the computer chosen will be a Netbook.  Mostly because there are not many laptops out there which can be easily hacked.

So if you want a chance at winning the computer, follow the posted rules and mail in your entry form.  Last year there were only 43 people entered, so the odds were pretty good.  Currently there are 215  members in HQ-A, so even if everyone entered it's still pretty good odds!

HQ-A ProjSys2 is coming up fast!

Yep, it seems another year has come and gone and that means the anniversary of HQ-A will be coming up in March.  I've put up a teaser promo on YouTube  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys8IRksRnqs for the contest and hope to have all the details nailed down soon.  We have not yet decided whether to do a desktop, HTPC, portable or a mini system, but a poll is up and that will be decided before the end of the month I hope.

Last years winner will be sending in a photo to be used in the official contest announcement and I have the entry form designed and ready to post for download.  This year won't be as easy as the first one, seems a lot of people joined HQ-A just for a shot at a free computer.  For one thing, the entry must be mailed in, which takes a bit of doing, but should be worth it for those interested.  There will also be a few questions on the entry form which must be answered in order to qualify.  Nothing hard, but it will take a little online work to answer the questions.

All in all I hope to have the details worked out so as to give everyone a full month to get their entry in.  As last year, the contest winner will be announced on March 7th, and a video of the drawing will take place and be posted on YouTube as well.  For those who have small children who were frightened by the appearance of the ogre on last years video, rest assured that won't happen this year as I will be behind the camera.

So if you think Hackintoshing might be something you are interested in, be sure to check us out.  You will find a link over on the right under Hackintosh for our newly designed homepage.  Check it out!

Who am I?

Okay, I admit, this sounds like a dumb question.  But if you know me very well, you've probably figured out by now that I do that on a regular basis.  Now I know who I am, but sometimes I create additional email accounts for logging onto or creating something new on the web and this is what I am referring to.

I recently did this and used a free email service to create another account but forgot to write down the password so that I can log back into my account and read any mail I have received.  I think maybe it's time to consolidate my many addresses and online personas into a select few so I can remember who I am, at least most of the time.

This brings up another point, for those who use YouTube to post videos, you may have noticed recently that you now have to link that account to another Google account in case you have not done so already, or just used a Google account to create the YouTube account to begin with.

I don't care for this at all, but YouTube is the best medium for such exchange of information so it's either do it their way or the highway as the saying goes.  I'm not a fan of change of any kind, so this doesn't sit well with me.

So in case I have contacted some of you using one of these many different personas and you no longer here from that person, just know that I have done away with some of my more obscure ones and no longer use them.  I will always be mosslack, so that one won't be going away...
